DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017

At the moment of these news DreamHack Masters Malmo is at the quarter finals stage. And North and Immortals are battling it out for a place in the semis. But there's more to say about this tournament than this matchup! It started with 16 top tier teams in CS GO fighting for the main prize pool of 100.000 US$. Gambit the majorPGL Krakow winners are in it to win it,but G2, SK, Astralis, FaZe amongs others had something to say. Unfortunately for some of the big ones they came short in the group stage, such were the cases of FaZe, Fnatic, EnVyUs and VP. Topping the groups with 2 - 0's were NiP, G2, Astralis and North while giants like SK or NaVi had to fight it out for a space in the quarter finals.

These quarter finals are no short of emotions and excitement, with severeal match ups like NaVi x NiP where the CIS team gets the first map (Train) on clear a 16-6 victory but the swedes had the resilience to fight back winning the next maps especially a nailbiting second map (Nuke) which they won 22-20 on an extreme overtime. Mirage was locked down early and NiP secures the semis with a result of 16-8.

Gambit flexed their muscles by setting aside an uninspired Astralis team with a 2-0 win to scure the semis. Their form seems to be fantastic these past events while they stride in the higher circles of CS GO.

SK had a hard time against G2 with the french team taking the semis place in a well fought matchup where SK seemed to fall short and not being in tune in the last months. Even though SK won the first map (Cobblestone), G2 goes into overtime in the second map to clinch it 19-17 in Inferno and the brazilians just lost composure at the end with G2 winning Mirage with a conclusive 16-11 score.

More to come later tomorrow for a final update! Stay tuned!
